* Katrina Aftermath *

September 8th, 2005 at 4:33 pm

It started out so sunny
and then they did predict
a storm that was a’brewing
and coming pretty quick

They told us we should leave
but some of us just said no
if I’d known what I know now
I really would get up and go

But now Katrina’s past
and we live in the aftermath
and trust me when I tell you
there’s nothing left to laugh

But slowly we’ll rebuild
and one day it shall be seen
we will be a bigger, better
and shinier New Orleans

But now we need your prayers
your clothes, your meds and more
Couldn’t you just help us
that’s what communities are for

And if we should forget
to say thanks this very day
know we do appreciate
all help in a big , big way
